Saundra Adams is an on-camera, television news reporter currently employed as an editor by Fox News affiliate Channel 23 in Tulsa. She is especially active in mentoring programs for at-risk youth in her community and is appalled by the dismal statistics reflecting youth dropout rates from high school and the low percentage of at-risk children who are prepared even if they do graduate high school for the demands of college academics. She believes mentors supply children with positive role models that are typically missing from their lives, and mentors can offer guidance based on personal experience that has an uplifting effect in keeping youth centered on positive goals that benefit society.
